The stoneware figure in this piece was inspired by a female glamour model and the box on which the figure is resting is representative of the 'freedom of expression' that such models enjoy. The clay slabs used to create the box were held together with slurry and the box was filled with newspaper so the top didn't cave in before it was fired. Gemma used her sculpting skills to form the human figure and complete the piece. The box measures approximately 30cm by 12cm.
